  23. (a) I don't have the manuals in front of me, but I think SYSTAT will draw
  24. equiprobability ellipses.

  26. (b)  This may not be quite what you wanted, but if you have outliers that
  27. are distorting your fit, you might consider a resistant method.  This would
  28. involve recasting your problem in terms of a regression model.  If you take
  29. this approach here are some references that might help.
