- In regard to Wayne Meeks' problems with Ibid:
-
- It seems to me that forcing storage of the .DAT files in compressed
- (i.e., non-expanded form) is the wrong approach. The only way I know
- of to get characters with diacriticals on the search line for Ibid is
- with the compose key (F6), which makes the expanded type characters.
- Consequently I would think the way to make them searchable would be to
- store the .DAT files in expanded form and reindex!
-
- Sorry this is all speculation, for although my Ibid database contains
- diacriticals they are not among the searchable fields at this time so
- I can't try it out. Note the the reindexing after converting the
- files above is critical--the index files must be made aware of the
- presence of the expanded diacritical characters.
