  25. RANK AND SALARY:

  27. Assistant Professor - Permanent, Tenure Track in
  28. Instructional Technology.  Salary based on experience.

  30. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  31.  
  32. Primary area of expertise: applications of technology to
  33. instruction.  Teach courses in computer applications and
  34. instructional technology to graduate instructional technology
  35. and teacher education students, work with faculty toward the
  36. integration of technology into existing professional
  37. education courses, and conduct research on applications of
  38. technology to school based learning.

  40. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:
  41.  
  42. 1.      Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or closely
  43. related field.  (Appointment to the graduate faculty requires
  44. an earned doctorate.)
  45.  
  46. 2.      Experience in using common computer applications in the
  47. classroom, including word processing, spread sheet and data
  48. base management programs for MAC and IBM platforms.
  49. Knowledge of programming, authoring and hypermedia tools,
  50. such as Basic, Quest, Link Way, Hypercard, and Tool Book, and
  51. integrated programs such as MicroSoft Works is highly
  52. desireable.

  54. 3.      Experience in teaching or administration in an
  55. elementary or secondary education setting or experience in
  56. teaching or in the preparation of professional educators in a
  57. college or university setting.
  58.  
  59. 4.      Initiation of a program of research in instructional
  60. technology resulting in papers presented at professional
  61. meetings and/or in publications.
  62.  
  63. DESIRED CAPABILITIES:
  64.  
  65. 1.      Experience in instructional design activities and/or
  66. computer-based training development in business and industry
  67. or in educational settings.
  68.  
  69. 2.      Participation in student research in a college or
  70. university setting (director or committee member - theses or
  71. dissertations).
