- RANK AND SALARY:

- Assistant Professor - Permanent, Tenure Track in
- Instructional Technology. Salary based on experience.

- RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
- Primary area of expertise: applications of technology to
- instruction. Teach courses in computer applications and
- instructional technology to graduate instructional technology
- and teacher education students, work with faculty toward the
- integration of technology into existing professional
- education courses, and conduct research on applications of
- technology to school based learning.

- REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:
-
- 1. Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or closely
- related field. (Appointment to the graduate faculty requires
- an earned doctorate.)

- 2. Experience in using common computer applications in the
- classroom, including word processing, spread sheet and data
- base management programs for MAC and IBM platforms.
- Knowledge of programming, authoring and hypermedia tools,
- such as Basic, Quest, Link Way, Hypercard, and Tool Book, and
- integrated programs such as MicroSoft Works is highly
- desireable.

- 3. Experience in teaching or administration in an
- elementary or secondary education setting or experience in
- teaching or in the preparation of professional educators in a
- college or university setting.

- 4. Initiation of a program of research in instructional
- technology resulting in papers presented at professional
- meetings and/or in publications.

- DESIRED CAPABILITIES:
-
- 1. Experience in instructional design activities and/or
- computer-based training development in business and industry
- or in educational settings.

- 2. Participation in student research in a college or
- university setting (director or committee member - theses or
- dissertations).
