  14. I think we have a pretty good compromise in our paging system.  We use bells
  15. which ring on all floors simultaneously.  We use this system for closing - 15
  16. and again 5 minutes before lights out.  We also use it to call in specific staff
  17. members from the stacks - Circ, Ref, security, custodial.  The good part, of
  18. course, is that we can't make announcements with it, so must decline all
  19. requests to do so.  We have also used it for tornado warnings and for the bomb
  20. threat (no one took this seriously) we had one fine spring morning after 5
  21. months of being snowbound.
