  13. Although Nazi apologetics try to claim that the events of
  14. Krystallnacht are not to blame on the Nazi leadership, the
  15. following instuctions from SS General Heydrich leave no
  16. doubt that the pogrom was indeed supported by them:

  30. a) Only such measures may be taken which do not jeopardize
  31.    German life or property (for instance, burning of synagogues
  32.    only if there is no danger of fires for the neighbourhoods).

  35.    not looted. The police have been instructed to supervise the
  36.    execution of these directives and to arrest looters.

  45. officers, as many Jews, particularly wealthy ones, as the local
  46. jails will hold, are to be arrested in all districts. Initially
  47. only healthy male Jews, not too old, are to be arrested. After
  48. the arrests have been carried out the appropriate concentration
  49. camp is to be contacted immediately with a view to a quick
  50. transfer of the Jews to the camps...
