- When a programer leaves a bot running unattended he is responsible for
- anything that bot may do.
-
- The above example is extreme, let's look at another one:
-
- <luser1> Hey I like calculus
- <KodiakCPU> aaaargh not calculus.
- <luser2> kewl! Calculus.
- <KodiakCPU> aaaargh not calculus.
- <luser3> Guys dont say calculus again tee-hee.
- <KodiakCPU> aaaargh not calculus.
-
- Ok, so who is responsible? Yes, the lusers are being immature, but who has
- given them the means to affect this stupidity? The bot programer. Without
- the bot, the lusers would still be lame and annoying, but the bot gives
- them power to be even worse.
-
- The above is a real example, btw.
-
- When you *subject* the users of the irc to your bot, it is your
- responsibility to make sure your bot does not adversely affect the network.
-
-
- It is NOT up to the other users of irc to make sure all bots are being used
- in the ways the programers wished.
-
- I mean, what do you think IRC is FOR? Most of us agree it is for human
- communication.
-
- Appparently, others are starting to think it is a neat programming forum
- with human baby-sitters.
