  13. I am looking for a BBS that operates like most remote unix machines. I
  14. plan to start a BBS on a 386/40, and I'll run anything (OS) that I need
  15. to to get this to work.
  16. Specifically, I'm looking for one that has a prompt similar to the 
  17. MSDOS 'c:>' or to a unix '%' prompt. In other words, I don't want the user
  18. to have a dammed menu appear every time s/he wants to do something-
  19. i.e. the user enters the command (eg: read news, or 'sz picture.gif', etc )

  21. I want to create an information service, rather than a regular bbs. This
  22. means something equivalent to reading news on the net (although much smaller)
  23. being able to read(download) a newspaper online, as well as the usual
  24. mail, up/downloading, and other stuff normally found on most bbs's.
  25. I want to do all this for a fee (ie: most likely $1-2/hour), and eventually
  26. add an internet address. I own a company that does a bunch of different
  27. integrated computer stuff, and I need to set up a bbs for some customers
  28. anayway, so I thought that I would would offer everybody else a chance
  29. to get on it, and to also have fun with it.
  30. Think of a mini (really, really small) version of Compuserve, or a fairly
  31. elaborate bbs (potentially 20-30 lines)

  33. Any ideas of any software that can do some of this? I need it to be flexible
  34. for add ons if it doesn't do all of it.
