- Have you ever wondered what it is that really makes a computer a
- computer? What does boolean algebra have to do with it? What are logic
- gates? Are flip-flops more than something you wear on your feet at the
- beach? Here is your chance to learn something about what is inside of that
- box on your desk. There will be a quiz before the talk.
-
- Our speaker for the Thursday October 15th breakfast, Mark DiVecchio
- has worked as a computer hardware designer for way too long. He was
- first introduced to the flip-flop in the guise of a 12AT7 back in 1965. Since
- then, he has designed computers ranging from massively parallel machines
- which filled rooms down to microprocessors that would get lost in the
- clutter of his desk. His company, Silogic Systems, provides hardware and
- software design engineering services.
-
- The seminars are open to anyone interested. We hope to use these
- seminars to learn more about what ICCA members and associates are
- doing in their technical business and, of course, to increase our
- membership roster.
-
- PLEASE NOTE: We must pay one check so bring exact change which we
- will collect before breakfast. Check-in will begin at 7:15 with breakfast at
- 7:30. The presentation will begin at 8:15 and the seminar will conclude
- promptly at 9:00.
-
- UPCOMING SPEAKERS: Nov 19 - Larry Marine, Dec 17 - John
- Pantone, Jan 21 - Open. If you would like more information or if you
- would like to speak at a future seminar, call Mark DiVecchio at 549-9841.
