- DON'T slide hammer it! Not unless you want to buy another steering column.

- The correct way to do this is as follows:

- Remove the horn button, then pull the steering wheel with a puller.
- Remove the turn signal switch & "upper" section of the steering column. (this
- may require a special puller from your friendly neighborhood Mopar dealer, or
- you may be able to rig your own puller.)
- You should then see the ignition cylinder. Push the button above the cylinder
- and the whole cylinder will slide out.

- I'm doing this from memory, so I may have missed a couple steps. BTW, I had
- to do this job on my '73 Coronet about 15 years ago when someone broke into
- our house and stole all the spare car keys. Got to swap out several cars'
- lock sets :-(
