- I am trying to find info on different types of
- braking systems available. I am trying to find braking systems
- more suited to ultralight applications where weight and drag are an
- issue.
- More than just technical info (that I also want), I am trying to
- find out about different systems that actually exist - where should
- I look?
- I am thinking of using some kind of drumn brake arrangement
- because they tend to have less drag and large amounts of heat dissipation
- and large braking forces are not needed in this case.

- BTW - why are disc brake systems inherintly designed to drag the pads
- a certain amount? I have been playing with designing a return spring
- system to push the pads away from the disc - although this will increase
- the needed brake pedal effort.
