  13. Hi, I've been wondering about the oil pressure readings I've been
  14. getting in my '81 Datsun/Nissan.  The dashboard gauge is calibrated
  15. with a "6" (psi ?) at full scale.  At normal engine speeds it reads
  16. 4 to 5 and all is fine.  When idling at a red light, however, the
  17. needdle drops way down to 1 or lower.

  19. Does anyone know the most likely cause?  It seems to me that either
  20. my oil pump is not working well at low revs, OR the sensor for the
  21. gauge behaves non-linearly when the pressure drops a bit (or maybe
  22. both!)  Any ideas?
