- I have a 1988 SubarGL wageon with 75K miles. The radiator is beginning to
- show signs of corrosion on the outside. The dealer is recommending that I
- replace the radiator. I have two radiators to choose from: 1) a genuine
- Subaru radiator now made with alluminium or 2) an after market radiator that
- is similar to the original. The latter is about $150 - $200 cheaper than the
- former. I do plan to keep the car until it dies. The cost to install the
- Subaru radiator (with new hose and thermostat) is around $420. Is it reason-
- able to expect that the genuine alluminium Subaru radiator will last long
- enough to justify its higher cost?

- Thanks,
