  11. Marilyn Edelstein wonders whether, given reported problems with
  12. installation, it really is worthwhile upgrading to NB4.  Though my copy
  13. of NB4 arrived only yesterday and I have played with it for less than
  14. two hours so far, I would say yes, it definitely is worthwhile getting
  15. the upgrade.  First of all, the installation proceeded without a single
  16. hitch -- just be sure you install it in its own subdirectory (use the
  17. default NB4) and make sure your older version of NB is in the system
  18. path.  And it works very nicely, once I discovered (rather remembered
  19. from the advice given on this list a while back) that after I installed
  20. my printer I also had to make it the default printer.  In short, don't
  21. decide not to upgrade because of installation problems.  On a standard
  22. system (no fancy tsrs or compression utilities) I believe there really
  23. are no problems with installation.
  24. And, even though I have had little chance to explore the program's
  25. features very fully, there is much to be pleased with.  Just something
  26. as simple as being able to mark the beginning and end of a block then
  27. scrolling forward and marking more text for the same block is very nice.
  28. My very first impressions are very favorable, an impression that can
  29. easily get lost if we concentrate solely on real or imagined problems.
  30. I do not use Lingua which doubless simplifies everything.-- Bill
