- I have something to offer and also a problem that needs a solution.
- First, I am well on the way to getting NB4 to work with a Deskjet
- printer. As part of the installation procedure you have to let
- it convert the HP fonts to DJ format, which it does automatically,
- but takes FOREVER (about half an hour).
- It seems to work OK, but downloading is a little slow, and a couple
- of times the file seemed to get stuck in the printer, and wouldn't
- actually come out of the Deskjet for a minute or two. But it DID
- print Hebrew and Greek nicely. We have a 128K cartridge.
- On the other hand, for the printer in my office, which is not connected
- directly to my machine but instead is on the server, I have a problem
- which was addressed ages ago on this list, but I can no longer solve.
- Readers may recall that to get something to print on a network it
- is necessary to PRINTD, LPT1. This is OK if you're using resident
- fonts, but if you want to use the pretty Hebrew/Greek etc. fonts
- it won't work. Weirdly, the file will print, as soon as you exit
- NB. It works perfectly, but puts all the files into some kind of
- queue that it stores until you turn the program off. Any suggestions?
