- We are planning for a processor upgrade in the near future, and our
- operations manager has been running checks to ensure future compatibility
- of current equipment. When he called JDS to ask about our Hydra II
- Protocol Converters, he was told that our Hydras, which are at levels
- 4 and 5, would not be compatible with ESA because the levels at which
- we are do not support "SELECTIVE RESET CAPABILITY".
-
- Can anyone tell me what Selective Reset Capability is?
-
- Can anyone tell me if they have had any success running older Hydras
- on anything similar to an IBM 3090/200E running ESA?
-
- My manager suggested that it might not matter to us since we won't be
- running in ES9000 mode. Comments or clarifications regarding this
- suggestion are welcome....
-
- (The cost to upgrade our Hydras would be over $50,000! Not something
- we want to do if it is unnecessary.)
