- Brad,
-
- We recently talked to both Syncsort and Plisort. Plisort was
- significantly cheaper. After telling Syncsort they were out of the
- ballpark pricewise, they came back and matched Plisort's price. By that
- time, we decided to go with Plisort and be done with it. Plisort's offer
- also included a perpetual license. Not so with Syncsort. By the way,
- this was the VM flavor of the products. When things settle down around
- here I may look at the MVS product also.
-
- The rumor that Phase Linear is experiencing financial trouble may be
- true. When talking with Syncsort, that was about the only reason they
- could come up with to purchase their product and not Plisort. The
- support we have received from Phase Linear has not been a problem. In
- fact, it's been pretty good. Not that we've had technical problems, just
- questions.
