  14. I've seen more flames wars this week than in all the time I've been subscrib-
  15. ing to lists...

  17. Even if you happen to disagree with Gary Warner's statements, that is hardly
  18. an excuse to broadcast slurs against him, his school, his religious beliefs,
  19. or the State of Alabama.  His main point, i.e. restricting access to certain
  20. information, deserves the same consideration and respect as any other topic.
  21. Although I tend to be pretty liberal in my thinking, I don't believe that
  22. it's proper to assume that everyone is (or should be).

  24. Frankly, I wouldn't have thought such a controversy was possible or necessary
  25. on this list.  However, I assume that most of us are professionals of one sort
  26. or the other (as opposed to teenage hackers posting naughty notes on a BBS),
  27. so that some degree of decorum can be restored shortly.
