-
- The placenta contains the mother/fetus interface which permits nutrients
- and waste products to pass but prevents cells/tissue from passing. The
- placenta, umbilical cord, bag, and fetus all have come from the mother,
- but their development has been guided by the genes of the fetus and their
- tissue type is also that of the fetus.
-
- There _is_ a point, however, where fetus tissue isn't and mother tissue is.
- Whether it's in the uterus or placenta strikes me as being pretty much
- irrelevent to the fetus, mother, or abortion issue.
