  12. I see that DearOldDoug continues to assert that the Democratic platform
  13. endorses abortion on demand, despite having been repeatedly refuted.  Of
  14. course, the _text_ of the Democratic platform endorses the Freedom of
  15. Choice Act, the _text_ of which allows states to restrict access to
  16. abortion in the third trimester, just as in the _text_ Roe vs. Wade.

  18. Lately, a lot of bandwidth has been spilled in a debate as to whether or
  19. not advice to DearOldDoug, Chaneyhall, etc. to get counseling was sincere
  20. or meant to be insulting.  I would say that DearOldDoug certainly seems
  21. to be delusional; anyone who repeatedly posts misleading information 
  22. about easily verifiable legal decisions, platform planks and pending 
  23. legislation has, for lack of a better term, 'a screw loose somewhere.'

  27. But... I blather.  Recently on 60 minutes, they told the story of a 
  28. pregnant woman with gestational diabetes was flown to a hospital in
  29. Boulder CO for a third-trimester abortion to save her life.  The hospital
  30. refused to perform the abortion, so she was flown by helicopter to a
  31. clinic.  During the helicopter flight, she went into shock.  Given these
  32. facts, I wonder how DearOldDoug can continue to assert that we have
  33. abortion on demand in these United States.

  35. I find the term 'abortion on demand' to be offensive.  This insinuates
  36. that all women who get abortions _want_ abortions.  Common sense tells
  37. me that a woman whose health or life circumstances force her to terminate 
  38. a pregnancy _may_ be disappointed to have to seek an abortion.

  40. Doug Holtsinger is a sexist for believing that all women who seek
  41. abortions want abortions.
