- Hmm. Lots of replies about the alpha-beta-gamma paper. Exactly one has the
- names right. Just to confirm: It was Alpher, Bethe and Gamow. The article
- was indeed published on April Fool's Day. Bethe did not contribute to the
- paper, and the manuscript as submitted had a footnote to his name on the
- title page: "(In absentia)". [Un]fortunately, in the version that was
- finally printed this footnote was omitted. I believe many people refused
- to believe that it was a serious paper.
