- Check your accelerator pump. With the engine off (and preferably cold)
- remove the air cleaner cover and work the throttle. You should see raw
- gas being injected into the carburator as the throttle is being opened.
- Too much gas can cause flooding, and too little gas causes the mixture
- to be too lean for the power you are demanding. Either way you can
- experience lag or even stalling. I have never seen too much gas being
- injected, but I suppose it is possible, just not as likely. A hole in
- the accelerator pump diaphram will prevent the full charge of gas from
- being injected.
