  12. i have a 79 datsun 210 hatchback, 5spd, A14 engine, 120K miles.
  13. i change the oil regularly @ 3K miles.  lately (6-9 months) i've
  14. noticed that while in 3d or 5th gears (this is an old H-pattern:

  19. there is a loud buzzing/rattling emanating from the gearbox, just
  20. below the shift.  if i lift/push the shift towards neutral just an
  21. inch or less, some of the noise dissipates, but it still vibrates
  22. and makes some noise.  1st & 2d seem to be ok, but they are loud
  23. gears to begin with (high rpm); 4th is a dream; 5th is the worst.

  25. is this a symptom of low gearbox fluid?  is there such a thing,
  26. and can i refill it?  any other ideas?  am i about to drive the
  27. car into the pavement?
