- "Auto Repair for Dummies". Deanna Sclar. Started me off when Midas (see note)
- gave me a $700 repair estimate for a 15-year old $400 car. Now, I curse at and
- bang on other folks' cars, and they even *work* afterwards. Mostly, though,
- JG DeArmond is right about intuition. Stuff like this tends to come naturally
- to me. Being cheap/poor tends to help, for you'd rather know why than replace
- willy-nilly.

- *note - Anybody else notice that the "Midas Break Shops" were adequately named?
- Anything they touch under your car instantly turns to gold, judging on what
- they charge you to replace it!
