- Exactly what do the numbers and letters on a container of oil stand for?
- I have a new Mercury Tracer and am about to get my first oil change.
- The owner's manual says to use 5W-30 oil. Should I mention this to
- the service station or will they know which type of oil to use?
- So far we have only found one store which sells 5W-30 so I am guessing
- that the station would simply use 10W-40 or some other more common type
- of oil. If my guess is correct, will this be bad for the engine?
-
- Thanks,
