- You may not believe this but I think the *absolute* best book as
- an introduction to auto mechanics is the "Idiot's Guide" to Volkswagen
- repair. The exact title escapes me but it's something like, "How to
- repair your Volkswagen, a guide for the compleat idiot" and it's put
- out by the John Muir Press. This is the _air-cooled_ version, not the
- later one for the rabbit, et al.

- Phenomenally skillful, humorous, and transparent writing and illustration.
- Truly one of my favorite books on any subject.
