- Hi Speaker Builder folks,
-
- I'm planning to use either Focal 5N411L (or 5N412DBE) or Seas 11FG-X
- for small two-way sattelite. From data sheet, Focal drivers look like
- they have very smooth response from Neoflex cone which is supposed
- to provide good suppression for high frequency breakup and hence
- less distortion. Although that is supposed to produce clean midrange,
- Seas 11FG-X's paper cone is supposed to be lighter in density and
- with smaller diameter, it's probably give faster and more detailed
- sound. Paper cone may cause more distortion at high frequency breakup
- though.
- So would those of you who have experience with these two
- drivers (either from your own design or commercial design i.e.
- JM Lab Micron Ti, Proac Tablette) please give me your opinion about
- them? I'm interested in how good these drivers can sound potentially.
- This depends on how they are used of course. That's why I need various
- opinions.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-

- PS Not sure but quite convinced that Seas 11F-M which is similar to
- the 11FG-X is used in WAMM (early versions) and Theil CS3. And
- Focal 5N412DBE is the new version of the mid-bass in the SWAN IV
- project of Speaker Builder Journal.
