  12. I have a Sony Discman, that after 20-30 minutes of use, does not seek
  13. the next track correctly.  If it does, there is a repatitive sound
  14. in the background.  I brought it to a CD repair place for an alignment.
  15. They wouldn't fix it because they said it had a "weak laser".  They
  16. claim a new laser is about $150, and suggested I buy a new player.

  18. I would rather not buy a new CD Player.  My questions:
  19. 1.  Has anyone experienced this problem? what was the solution to fix it?

  21. 2.  Can I buy a laser mechanism myself and have someone put it in?
