  21. There is also a post entitled "Food delayed, mass deaths" which gives
  22. in some detail the account in the New York Times of how UN delays and
  23. puzzling US decisions continue while Somalians perish.

  25. Phone and fax numbers for the House Select Committee on Hunger and
  26. the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on African Affairs are also
  27. posted.

  29. I have also posted an appeal for people to please act again.  We got results
  30. before. But when public attention slips away, or people are persuaded the
  31. problem is solved, the governments and the UN sink back into inaction.
  32. I earnestly hope people will continue to press for massive aid.

  34. Fundraising actions are good, and draw attention to the problem, but
  35. time has almost run out.  Goverments have to act quickly, and they appear
  36. to do so only under great pressure from the public.
