  26. offline to assist the non-computer community to think about 
  27. the election process.  Please feel free to post your experiences.

  38. Local campaign offices, that is at the non state level do not  
  39. normally have access to candidate position papers, speeches and 
  40. statements until a day to a week after they are released by 
  41. Headquarters.  Usually this type of material is available to us 
  42. the DAY its release to the press and the public at HQ.

  44. Supplying them with a text copy of this material is great.  If 
  45. you can supply them with a machine compy, that is even better. 
  46.  
  47. Alot of people working inside the campaigns deal with local 
  48. issue leaders.  These issue leaders want to get authoritive 
  49. information from the campaign headquarters ASAP.  This creates 
  50. a bottleneck all the way up the line because you can imagine 
  51. how many people want information NOW.  By supplying very current 
  52. information to the campaigners you are giving them something they 
  53. can pass on that has the value of being very current.

  55. Now if you can give them a machine copy that they can pull into 
  56. personalized letters to local issue authorities, then you are you 
  57. helping them out.  BTW, in some cases you have to suggest this 
  58. process to them and show them how to do it.  You would
