- Local campaign offices, that is at the non state level do not
- normally have access to candidate position papers, speeches and
- statements until a day to a week after they are released by
- Headquarters. Usually this type of material is available to us
- the DAY its release to the press and the public at HQ.
-
- Supplying them with a text copy of this material is great. If
- you can supply them with a machine compy, that is even better.
-
- Alot of people working inside the campaigns deal with local
- issue leaders. These issue leaders want to get authoritive
- information from the campaign headquarters ASAP. This creates
- a bottleneck all the way up the line because you can imagine
- how many people want information NOW. By supplying very current
- information to the campaigners you are giving them something they
- can pass on that has the value of being very current.
-
- Now if you can give them a machine copy that they can pull into
- personalized letters to local issue authorities, then you are you
- helping them out. BTW, in some cases you have to suggest this
- process to them and show them how to do it. You would
- be surprised at the number of movers and shakers and their
- staff who DO NOT know the value of cutting and pasting
- information with computers.
