-
- Where:
- 101 Grove Street, Room 300
-
- What:
- A public meeting of the San Francisco Health Department to discuss (!) what to
- do with the results of Governor Wilson's slash-and-burn budget. The proposal on
- the table is to close several neighborhood health centers and some of the
- outpatient clinics at SF General. Although the budget IS tight, health activists
- in SF believe that Mayor Jordan has more options than to decimate the Health
- Deparment. If the proposal goes through, the effects on the poor, on immigrants,
- on people with AIDS, and others, will be disasterous. Let's show the Mayor we
- live in a city where health care is AT LEAST as important as the baseball team.
