- Please disregard advice to change how the makefile compiles
- enquire.c. That change isn't workable in general, and it won't be
- installed in future GCC versions.

- Problems are rarely due to fundamental design decisions. Normally
- they are due to localized errors that can easily be fixed once they
- are found. You can only conclude a problem is fundamental if you
- understand it well enough to rule out local solutions.

- If there is a problem in enquire.c, it needs to be investigated
- in detail so that the real, nonfundamental problem can be fixed.
