  12. Please disregard advice to change how the makefile compiles
  13. enquire.c.  That change isn't workable in general, and it won't be
  14. installed in future GCC versions.

  16. Problems are rarely due to fundamental design decisions.  Normally
  17. they are due to localized errors that can easily be fixed once they
  18. are found.  You can only conclude a problem is fundamental if you
  19. understand it well enough to rule out local solutions.

  21. If there is a problem in enquire.c, it needs to be investigated
  22. in detail so that the real, nonfundamental problem can be fixed.
