  28. ad 1.     In our project XUMA we are three persons. We work in the nuclear research
  29.     centre of Karlsruhe, Germany.

  31. ad 2.    The expert system XUMA supports the preparation of analysis plans, the
  32.     assesment of chemical analysis results and the evaluation of contaminated 
  33.     sites.
  34.      Now we are implementing a distributed system. There will be two processes
  35.     exchanging messages over network. The server process is the expert system
  36.     process handling datas. The client process contains the user interface.
  37.     This process receives the description of formulars, menus etc. from server
  38.     process over network.
  39.     He has to handle the dialog and send the results to server. This concept
  40.     reduces the network communication and accelerates the dialog handling.

  42. ad 3.    The Open-UI tool is working on a SUN Sparcstation 2. The window system
  43.     is OSF/MOTIF 1.1, using IXMOTIS from the IXOS company.

  45. ad 4.    We are glad to have this easy to handle tool. We have had before that a
  46.     test installation of a similar product of another comany. There have been
  47.     many problem of software and their care was very bad.

  49. ad 5.    I can send a list of some known bugs if anybody is iterested in.
