  20. This is a very good point, one we have been trying to get across to ISV's 
  21. for quite a while.  Unfortunately, despite standards tests, and the iABI
  22. there are some subtle problems with some of the SVR4 vendors.  I continue
  23. to see ads for 'xyz widget software for Brand X SVR4".  Of course there
  24. are also those that claim "runs on any Intel SVR4".  Hopefully these are 
  25. truthful, but I suspect that in a lot of cases they are not.  I think
  26. everyone that reads this group would be happier if they didn't have to ask
  27. questions like 'Does this DAT drive work with my brand of SVR4?'.  Instead,
  28. a simple 'does Intel SVR4 support my DAT drive?' should be all that's needed.

  30. I wish that last was true today, but I think "Open Systems" is a mythical
  31. beast for the time being.  :-(

  33. The sad part is we'll all be NT programmers if we don't fix it soon.
