  17. The instructions assume that you have already dialed your modem and
  18. turned on SLIP at the other end.  I got SLIP to work following the
  19. instructions, but I had dialed and started SLIP under Linux.  However
  20. I got continuous silo overflows under 386BSD (at 9600 bps using a 33
  21. MHz 486).  I ended up downloading the files under Linux and writing
  22. floppies!  I believe you could use tip to dial the modem and get
  23. things started, but if my experience is typical (there are reports
  24. saying similar things), SLIP isn't quite ready yet.
