- The instructions assume that you have already dialed your modem and
- turned on SLIP at the other end. I got SLIP to work following the
- instructions, but I had dialed and started SLIP under Linux. However
- I got continuous silo overflows under 386BSD (at 9600 bps using a 33
- MHz 486). I ended up downloading the files under Linux and writing
- floppies! I believe you could use tip to dial the modem and get
- things started, but if my experience is typical (there are reports
- saying similar things), SLIP isn't quite ready yet.
