  12. I have loaded the X11 from agate in the X386 directory.

  14. I  cat * > X11.tar.Z
  15. uncompressed and untarred the files off root.
  16.  
  17. I can see everything, and they appear to be in the correct place
  18.  
  19. ie:  /usr/bin/X11    /usr/lib/X11   .....
  20.  
  21. When I startx, it complains about certain files not found, yet  
  22. I can see that the files are there.

  24. After untarring, is there anything else to be done?

  26. I have not yet rebuilt the kernel.  Could that be the problem?

  28. The readme files do not say anything that is helpfull.  I should note that
  29. it is not a vga card problem, because I doubt that xinit is getting that far.
