- Help - Installing X11R4
-
- I have a macintosh IIfx running A/UX 2.0. I am trying to install X11R4
- on it. I do not have enough space on root, so I am trying to install
- it on one of the user accounts. I could install all the X11R3 files using
- fistall utility.
-
- The probelem is I am not able to update the software to X11R4, because when I
- use finstall to install the X11R4 updations it comes up with the following
- warning.
-
-
- >>>>>
-
- Warning: the directory /usr/bin/X11 is not present. That directory
- is created when the full X11R3 distribution is installed. This
- X11R4 floppy is intended to update an X11R3 that has already been
- loaded onto the hard disk. Perhaps you overlooked the X11R3
- installation. If so, at an upcoming prompt you may choose to
- discontinue loading the X11R4 update floppies. You should then
- install X11R3 according to the printed instructions, and finally
- return to these update disks.
-
- >>>>>>
- I am not able figure out a way to make finstall put the X11R4 updations in
- the directory where I have installed X11R3.
-
- Any help will be appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
- AJAYA
