- I'm having problems with my 8mm tape drive (at least that's what I've
- concluded it is).
-
- Backups and restores with cpio work fine.
-
- Smit can list the products on a new product install tape, but can't
- install it (twice - two different tapes with Ada on it - I got "this
- tape is not in backup format" or similar message).
-
- I'm trying now to install 3.2.2 (I'm on 3.1.5 now, going to do a complete
- overwrite installation). I follow the directions (power down, set to
- secure, power up, insert tape, switch to service, hit yellow button twice)
- and the tape drive spins briefly, then it boots from the hard drive in
- diagnostic mode. No installation dialogue.
-
- Any advice ?
