- Hi:
-
- I have a DECstation/ULTRIX4.2 running sendmail. The local mail and network
- incoming mail and is not working. From other host when doing a "mail -v"
- I got the error message:
-
- Deferred: Bad file number
-
- I can't even sendmail to myself on this same system. The out-going bound is OK.
- When try to send mail locally, it creates empty lf*, qf*, and xf* files
- in /var/spool/mqueue directory. When try to send mail from other host,
- it also creates a core file besides these empty lf*, qf*, and xf*
- files in mqueue directory. Yes, the /usr/lib/sendmail is set uid to root
- and /var/spool/mail has 1777 access permissions.
-
- Any help and pointers will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
