- I'm running SunOS 4.1.1 and OpenWindows 3.0 on a Sparc 1+. When
- I issue "mount -t tfs /usr/openwin/include /usr/include", I get:
-
- mount_tfs: Internal error: Cannot connect to tfsd on \
- sigurd.monsanto.com: RPC: Program not registered
- mount: giving up on:
- /usr/openwin
-
- "grep -i tfs /etc/rpc" gives:
-
- tfsd 100037
-
- From man pages tfsd(8) and inetd.conf(5), it looks like I also need
- entries in /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services, but these files don't
- contain any TFS entries, live or commented. I can't determine from
- the man pages or doc set what these entries should look like. (My 4.1
- and 4.1.1 Release manuals say to "see the System and Network
- Administration manual for a complete description of TFS...", but the
- 4.1 SNA manual knows nothing about TFS.)
-
- Also, the GENERIC config file contains an "options TFS" line, so it
- looks like I may need to build a new kernel.
-
- Can someone who's running TFS tell tell me how they did it?
- Also welcome are RTFM suggestions (with references!), comments on TFS
- reliability for different SunOS versions, and pros and cons on using
- TFS for /usr/openwin/include.
-
- Thanks,
