  13. Several postings and mailings correctly identified my problem as using
  14. the inittab file from 3.3.2.  It turns out that I installed the 4.0.5
  15. inittab correctly, but forgot that I had a script for modem
  16. reinitialization that copied a duplicate file over /etc/inittab (rather
  17. than editing the file to switch the getty's between off and respawn).
