- Sure, get a public domain (or buy one of the developer packages
- that has it) tar for the PC, and create the tape using the non-byte
- swap device on the SGI (normally /dev/tapens, see 'man tps')
- and use the backward compatility option 'O' of tar, if you
- have IRIX 4.0 or later.
