- (Sigh.)
-
- I upgraded my slab yesterday and I am having a few problems.
-
- First a word of advice: when you do the upgrade, and the
- Upgrade_3.0.app gets to the point where it says "running
- postprocessing script", DON'T TOUCH WORKSPACE!
-
- I inadvertently did so and hung the machine pretty bad.
- (I had to "mon" out from the nmi monitor - halt wouldn't work.)
-
- Now my UpradeLog is missing some stuff. I have everything up to and
- including the line:
- > Upgrade complete at Mon Sep 14 14:20:04 1992
-
- but am missing this:
- (taken from another machine's UpgradeLog)
- > Updating NetInfo database local.nidb:
- > Updating user accounts...18 accounts
- > Creating /locations/renderers...
- > Updating /rpcs...
- > Removing decode alias...
- > Creating /localconfig...
- > NetInfo changes complete. Checking sizes for languages...
- > Languages require 11462K, and 7809K are available.
- > There isn't enough space to install all the languages.
- > Checking size for English help...
- > English help requires 3722K, and 7809K are available.
- > Installing English help...
- > Postprocessing complete at Tue Sep 15 12:56:58 GMT-0400 1992
- > Upgrade complete.

- I have noticed some odd behavior. For example, my print panels don't
- include the LocalPrinter hooked up to my NeXT anymore
- (although nppower still works).
-
- So, is there anyway I can run the postprocessing script without
- actually restarting the upgrade? I tried to peek inside
- Upgrade_3.0.app to see if I could find the "script" but didn't
- find it.
-
- If I can't do this, I'll have to start over by first restoring
- my drive to 2.1 from my backup and redo the entire upgrade.
- A rather unpleasant proposition...
-
- Help!
