- Tell that to the people on this campus who were promised their
- orders of Quadra 900's MONTHS ago and keep getting the 'oh, it will
- be another 6 weeks' from Apple. Apple is far from saintly. (maybe
- they are fairly quick on Mac Classics, but they obviously can't
- handle the high-end machines they're advertising.) The lead time
- board in our campus's computer store has 2-4 weeks for a few Apple
- systems, most are 6 to 10 weeks. NeXT systems have an average of
- 2-4 weeks, that I've seen lately.

- Can you tell me how much it was, and on what date the price was
- changed? As far as I know, it has been $695 minus educational
- discount if that applies ever since the CD-ROM/3.0 bundle was
- announced. (I may have missed something, though)

- If you pick the 'rush' service and pay the extra charge, your order
- gets processed much more rapidly.
-
- All I can say is - I've seen many computer makers committ these
- types of errors you speak of. I'm sorry you have had such bad luck
- with your orders, but I've seen the same badness throughout the
- market.
- (Gateway 2000 sitting on an order for 3 weeks before acknowledging
- that it will take another 4 weeks to get a system; how about those
- >45 minute-on-hold jobs when calling Apple's Higher-Ed hotline just
- to process an order? I have seen it in our campus computer store)
-
- Hopefully NeXT Order Mgmt is working to better itself.
