- Hi,
-
- I've been debating on buying SIMMS for my cube. I almost bought some
- the other day until the guy (I forget the place) told me that I
- had to buy the chips in banks of four. I wanted to get 4x8 sims for
- 4M for about $105. I have $100, but don't have $400 like the guy
- wanted. So here's my question:
-
- Right now I have 8 of the 16 slots filled with what I presume to be
- 1x8 chips giving me 8M of memory. Can I simply plug in 1 bank
- of 4x8 simms to give me a total of 12M? Or can one not mix up
- the type of chips on the board, ie. it's either all 1x8 or all
- 4x8.
-
- Thanks in advance. Please email. Post optionally.
