  14. I have uploaded the file tekton4tex.tar.Z to the submissions directory
  15. on sonata.cc.purdue.edu. It contains files that enable the use of
  16. Adobe's Tekton font with the NeXT's TeX implementation, or any
  17. implementation that uses Tom Rockicki's dvips. The README file is
  18. appended to this article. Although the README file does not mention it,
  19. these files would be rather useful as a template or guide for anyone
  20. wishing to use other Postscript fonts with TeX.

  24. This directory contains files that enable the use of Adobe's Tekton font
  25. in TeX and LaTeX on the NeXT computer and other machines using Tom
  26. Rockicki's dvips.
  27.  
  28. The files are useless unless you have a legitimate copy of the Tekton
  29. font.
  30.  
  31. The makefile builds tfm and vf files from Adobe's afm files. It has an
  32. install option. Be sure the paths are right for your setup, and that you
  33. won't write over any information you need to keep, before you run it.
  34. This install will write over your psfonts.map and psfonts.sty files, so
  35. BEWARE! I have followed the standard font-naming conventions.

  37. Any LaTeX style files in this directory assume you are using the New
  38. Font Selection Scheme. This is *not* distributed with the NeXT; you will
  39. have to pick it up from an archive (see below). If you get this, you
  40. will also want psfonts.tar.Z.

  44.  tekton-sample-latex.tex
  45.  semteksampl.tex            (requires seminar.tar.Z)

  47. The file tekton-font-height.tex calculates the x-height of Tekton. This
  48. information was used to construct psfonts.sty and semtek.sty. See
  49. npsfont.sty for the reason why x-height font scaling is useful.
