  23. I believe the volume level settings work fine on 2.1 but AFTER you are
  24. logged in.  The problem is probably that you are playing sound via
  25. *loginHook* script which is executed as root, not as the user who
  26. is loggin in.  Perhaps, it might be possible to set the loginHook
  27. sound play level via setting in the *root*'s Prefereces.
