- I've received 3 pieces of mail about this already. Strange how little
- things can cause a controversy :-) First, I had not heard this amusing
- story about Knuth (though it seems completely in character :-) and
- had just made up the name "Pi TeX" --- $\pi$ \TeX --- myself. Sorry
- for the confusion on this crucial point. Second, this jogged my memory
- and makes me think that the version which actually comes wiht 3.0
- is TeX 3.141 (i.e. a somewhat better approximation to the transcendental
- wonder \pi) but I can't check this at the moment because I just moved
- and my whole life, including the NeXT-TeX 3.0 manual (but, heaven be
- praised, not my NeXT!) are in boxes. I seem to remember that the
- version of TeX is given on one of the first pages of the manual, so
- perhaps someone who has 3.0 already can say if we have 2 or 3 digit
- accuracy on Pi TeX???
-
- best --- tom
