  29. I've received 3 pieces of mail about this already.  Strange how little
  30. things can cause a controversy :-)  First, I had not heard this amusing
  31. story about Knuth (though it seems completely in character :-) and
  32. had just made up the name "Pi TeX" --- $\pi$ \TeX --- myself.  Sorry
  33. for the confusion on this crucial point.  Second, this jogged my memory
  34. and makes me think that the version which actually comes wiht 3.0
  35. is TeX 3.141 (i.e. a somewhat better approximation to the transcendental
  36. wonder \pi) but I can't check this at the moment because I just moved
  37. and my whole life, including the NeXT-TeX 3.0 manual (but, heaven be
  38. praised, not my NeXT!) are in boxes.  I seem to remember that the
  39. version of TeX is given on one of the first pages of the manual, so 
  40. perhaps someone who has 3.0 already can say if we have 2 or 3 digit 
  41. accuracy on Pi TeX???
