  26. Something like "Data buffer overrun", followed by a "SCSI bus reset--
  27. target <blah> now syncronous at 4.0 M/s"?

  29. You may be SOL...I've know several devices that work fine on the NeXT
  30. but fail to work on Suns (specifically, SPARCstation II's and IPX's). 
  31. One example was a Wangtek 6200 DAT tape drive that failed completely,
  32. another was a Fujitsu 2266SA (1.1 Gig 5.25" HD) that had to be
  33. reformatted on my NeXT for 512 byte sectors, rather than 1K, before the
  34. Sun would touch it.

  36. Sun boxes seem to have problems with devices that can't accept 512 byte
  37. sectoring.  The NeXT is much more intelligent about such things.

  39. It might be helpful for you to describe what Sun machine you're using,
  40. and to possibly include a transcript of the SCSI bus errors.
