- I am presently using a graphical BBS called TeleFinder and have decided to
- switch to a similar product called FirstClass by SoftArc of Canada because of
- their strong gateway products.
-
- SoftArc has a gateway toolkit that helps to develop gateways to other systems
- for expanded connectivity (Fax, Internet, MS-Mail, etc). Since FirstClass does
- not currently have a gateway that can import/export mail with FidoNet I offered
- to write one. What I proposed was a gateway that would merely read and write
- files in the format required by Tabby, the current defacto FidoNet mailer for
- the Mac. Tabby could then run in the background.
-
- Anyway, it turns out that since SoftArc is a registered Apple developer, they
- insist that anyone who develops gateways with their toolkit be a registered
- Apple developer.
-
- The big question, how does a pion like me with a home brewed BBS inexpensively
- become a registered Apple developer to write a simple gateway product for a
- BBS?
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated!
