- Well I ahve been overwhelmed by the response for
- a vi list. Orginally I was just going to tout what it could
- do, but most people seem to want to know how more than what.
- The best thing to do is to get the VI Reference card, you
- could buy a book, but then who read the whole thing (which
- is what you would have to do) and most vi books are for novices
- (ie very boring). O'Riely and Assoc. prints an outstanding book
- on vi, but I have never read it. and there is always "man vi"
- Teh Cucumber Book Shop carries it (they are located in Rockville
- MD, but they do mail order). I think they even have and 800
- number, Ahh hah! they do. 1-800-223-UNIX.
- It is ISBN number 0-916151-41-7
-
- I am compiling a list, but I don't know how long it
- will take me to mail it to all the people who responded. Is there
- a vi newsgroup??? Does any one know how to start one? Seems the
- way to go. I could definately start it and keep it full of
- neat tips. (I think)
-
- If you have a direct question about vi -- email me. If
- you just ask or have asked for the list, well you are in the que.
-
- Later,
